FRANK KIMMEL

NO. 44 ANSELL-MENARDS TOYOTA CAMRY

ARCA RACING SERIES PRESENTED BY MENARDS

KENTUCKY SPEEDWAY

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 2014

KIMMEL AT KENTUCKY: Friday’s ZLOOP 150 will mark Frank Kimmel’s 21st career ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start at Kentucky Speedway. In his previous 20 starts, Kimmel has recorded 4 wins (’01-’02, ’05), 11 top-five and 15 top-10 finishes, in addition to six poles (’01, ’03-’04, ’13). The 10-time champion has completed 98.4% of laps competed (2141 of 2176) and led a total of 557 laps.

TWO TO GO: With the 2014 ARCA Racing Series coming to a close, Kimmel and his Win-Tron Racing team have two races remaining to record their first victory of the season. Through the first 18 races, Kimmel has tallied 8 top-five and 14 top-10 finishes, while completing 93.6% of laps competed. The 10-time champion currently sits fourth in the driver championship point standings, 15 points behind third-place Tom Hessert.

CHASSIS INFORMATION: Kimmel and the No. 44 Ansell-Menards team will utilize Chassis No. 12 this week at Kentucky Speedway. This chassis was last used earlier this season during the second event at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway, where Kimmel was involved in an accident and finished in the 20th position. Prior to this season, Mason Mingus drove this chassis in both events at Pocono Raceway in 2013 (started second, finished sixth in both events).

TEST 1, 2, 3: In preparation for Friday night’s 100-lap event under the lights, Kimmel and the Mark Rette-led team took part in the open test session at Kentucky Speedway on Wednesday. While testing the primary No. 44 Toyota, Kimmel ended the session 11th fastest (31.709 seconds/170.299 mph).

SALEM RECAP: One week ago during the second and final stop at Salem Speedway, Kimmel and his Ansell-Menards team completed two successful practice sessions (first and second fastest respectively), qualified in the ninth position and completed every lap inside the top-10 before a manufactured parts failure in the rear end relegated the No. 44 Toyota to a 24th-place finish.
