June 11, 2016 (Charlotte, N.C.) - Shane Lee and the LeeBoy team stretched their fuel milage in the LeeBoy Toyota Camry the final 57 laps to recover after pitting for fuel only during the second caution on lap 43 for a 10th place finish. Lee would suffer front end damage after an incident during the first caution on lap 28. "We had nothing to lose, out front bumper and hood was bent up pretty good after the lap car stopped and we had no where to go on that first caution. I knew we would be close on fuel but we had gone over different saving strategies and we made it" said Lee following the Corrigan Oil 200.
Lee participated in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards open test on May 19th giving the team a baseline to build on when the cars got on track Thursday for dual 55-minute practice sessions. Lee posted the 19th & 14th respectively. On track activity would resume with two lap qualifying on Friday but just halfway through ARCA Racing officials would have to cancel qualifying due to time restrictions setting the line up by practice speeds. "We faced adversity all weekend but overcame it and was able to race for a top-10 finish" said Lee. "Kevin (Cywinski), Todd (Myers), and all the guys that up the Win-Tron team we're all in this week and worked from the time the garage open till the checkered flag flew."
From the Driver's Seat with Shane Lee... "I really felt that it was a good weekend for us, we learned a lot about racing the composite body cars on the intermediate tracks and that will give us something to build on for the second half of the season. We're getting better as a team each time we race so I feel like we're not far off from really having something special."
Looking out the windshield... Shane Lee and LeeBoy team will be back on track June 25 at Gateway Motorsports Park as Lee looks to make his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start of 2016.
